Garry Lock
Background
Garry has over 20 years’ experience dealing with SME businesses and is well connected through the work he has carried out over that time. He started his career as a trainee in general practice in 1995 at a small firm of chartered accountants in Brighton. He spent most of his time preparing both statutory and management accounts and working on many audits. Shortly before qualifying as an accountant he moved to a top ten firm in 2000, HLB Kidsons. Upon the HLD Kidsons merger with Baker Tilly (now RSM) he transferred to the restructuring and recovery team in 2002 and qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2005. He spent much of his working between Baker Tilly offices in Crawley and London before deciding to join RSM Tenon in Brighton in 2008. RSM Tenon were an AIM listed consolidator firm of accountants with over 45 offices.
During his time at RSM Tenon Garry obtained his insolvency licence in 2012 which coincided with him being put forward for the director selection process. In late 2013 Baker Tilly acquired RSM Tenon. The Brighton office however joined new start up restructuring firm Quantuma at which point Garry became a partner. Garry has dealt with a wide range of instructions ranging from formal corporate insolvency appointments such as Administrations, Liquidations and Company Voluntary Arrangements through to advisory work for banks and asset based lenders which focused on business review. His focus, when possible, has been to assist companies with formulating turnaround strategies.
During the early part of 2017 he decided to leave Quantuma to specialise in providing a bespoke range of services to compliment those provided by existing reporting accountants.
